yeah for super bowl...

Have I mentioned my husband isn't into football. Neither am I. In fact I have no clue what is going on... ever. One color chasing after the other, something like that...

But we have a super bowl tradition.

It started long long ago (like 8 years ago) in a land far far away (like Huntington Beach) when we were dating.

We would pack up and go to the park and feed ducks, picnic, fly kites, play cards, and what we discovered was... the park is empty..men everywhere are huddled indoor watching the game... and this time of year here is beautiful. So a tradition was born. They hold a lot of good memories for me.

One of the older years are here

But, last year it rained, so we didn't go, we picnicked indoors instead. So this year was the first time to introduce Rylan and Cade to the park on superbowl Sunday...

it was better than I ever remembered... the ducks were grateful, the food was plenty, and the giggles were in full force...but the camera battery died quickly...
and that was perfectly ok.

Love this post, sounds like you guys had a great day boycotting the football! I love your idea for going to the park on superbowl Sunday.

And... loved the previous post. That Nick he's got an eye for a shot :)

How clever, Leslie!! Knowing everyone would be cooped away inside hovering over the tube lol We're not big super bowl fans either, so maybe we should think about enjoying some uncrowded areas!!

Loved loved LOVED the pictures...such a beautiful family!

Love this idea! We aren't big fans of football either, but this is one game that Mike occasionally likes to watch. So, we get to be one of "those" people. Thankfully, he takes none of it serious and we spend more time talking with friends and and eating tons of food than watching the actual game. I'm glad you guys had so much fun! Love the picture of Rylan, Nick, and Cade walking down the trail.

What a fun idea but I wouldn't get my husband to go for it...he loves football! Beautiful shots of the kids as always - nice to see they are feeling better!

I love traditions, especialy the kind that start when it's just a family of 2, how fun to pass on to the family of 4!

What a GREAT idea. None of us are football watchers either. I think we will have to try this out next year.
